LET'S GET PERSONAL
QAWS x FUR BAE
It all started when…
QAWS was founded in 2004 to help the stray & abandoned animals in Qatar. Funded purely by public donations, the shelter is a temporary home to over 150 animals looking for new families, and is a permanent home to over 50 animals that are not suitable for rehoming for one reason or another.
There are SO MANY DOGS needing homes in Qatar and hey, wouldn't you know, a lot of West Coast homes have their doors wide open. Now there's a path to a better life for these dogs, and an opportunity for FUR BAE to help QAWS continue the amazing work they do.
From desert digs to Pacific NW hikes ... imagine.
All of our dogs' behaviour has been assessed by QAWS, who have 15 years experience in this sector, and each dog receives a full behavioural report. Dogs who sadly are not fit for foster or adoption will remain in one of QAWS 50 dog residences, and those with special needs or behavioural requirements will be thoroughly communicated to any potential fosters or adopters.
YOU CAN DO IT
DITCH THE CAGE
Here at Fur Bae, we are doing everything we can to keep dogs out of cages, and that means relying on wonderful people who maybe can't commit to a dog for life just yet, but do have a lot of love to give! Whether you're on a work visa, don't have a yard yet, or simply can't afford the financial commitment of a forever dog, we'd love to have you give a temporary home to one of our desert dogs until they are adopted.
We properly vet all our fosters, including a phone interview, and a home visit from one of our foster coordinators. Please be prepared to be scrutinized (cordially) so we can make sure all our dogs are happy as can be.
Still feeling a little overwhelmed? Why not check out our HIKING BUDDY program as a gentle introduction to dogs!
YOU READY? LET'S GO.
TAKE A DEEP BREATH
If you're suuuuuure you're ready — and believe us, you best be sure — then we're here for you. We know adopting a dog is a big deal, and FUR BAE is here to make sure you have everything you need for a smooth transition. We can't wait to introduce you to your new best friend < 3
All our dogs are fully vaccinated, neutered, and micro chipped. The average cost of getting those treatments in Vancouver sits around $1,000 - $1500. Our adoption fee is $900, with most of that money going towards flying the dogs here as cargo shipments, and then the remainder of the proceeds going straight back in to bringing more dogs over to be fostered in the safe haven of the Pacific NW.
